Hello, my name is Sidney de Laat, chair fort he upcoming board year. I’ve been happily fencing epee for over three years, which I consider to be one of the best choices I’ve made. I did a bachelor and research master in Philosophy at the Radboud University, and just started my new job working at the provincial government. I highly enjoy fencing at Don Quichote, not just because of the great fencing, but also because of the fun and activities our club takes part in. I would love to help to make Fon Quichote an even better club than it already is, and I’m looking forward to having an exciting year with my fellow board members!
Hey there! I’m Loes Wolters, this year’s secretary. My fencing adventure started 1,5 years ago; I was working on my thesis and needed a way to blow off some steam, and I was hooked after only one lesson. Since then, I’ve been fencing foil, sampling the occasional sabre, and running the club’s Instagram account. I’m looking forward to being a board member this year and hope to see many of you on the piste!
I’m Tim and I’ll be the treasurer this year. I’ve been fencing for two years and ever since I’ve tried out foil, no other weapon has been able to grab my attention quite like my favourite way-too-breakable floppy metal stick. I like to have a beer with the club from time to time (read: as often as possible), and when I’m not drinking beer I’m at the rather green Huygens building waiting till 16:00 because then I can drink again. This was my very concise but very accyrate introduction. Tschüss…
Dear DQ’ees,
Some of you might already know me as a sabre fencer and master’s student in Neurobiology. I’m excited to be serving on your board this year, focusing on public relations and inclusivity as general board member. See you on the piste!
Hi hi hi, I’m Danaëlle and I will be one of the general board members this year. I walked into the fencing hall two years ago with no fencing experience and have been fencing sabre since then (best weapon of the three). My role will be to assist the board in their tasks, specifically those related to tournaments and equipment. Next to fencing, I’m a PhD candidate at Radboud UMC. I’m looking forward to seeing you on the piste!
